Responsibilities
- Makes electrical repairs to all Mosaic locomotives.
- Performs preventative maintenance on Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) style locomotives with other peripheral equipment.
- Removes, disassembles, repairs, and reassembles and replaces whole or partial electrical components including wheel and traction motor change outs.
- Channel wiring E/M.
- Performs wiring/electrical repair to Locomotive Remote Controls (training can be provided in this area).
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Some locomotive experience is required—two (2) or more years is highly preferred; a 4-year apprenticeship preferred but will consider less for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of repairing remote controls is an asset (training will be offered).
- Ability to read and follow Schematics and Maintenance Instructions (MI’s).
- Ability to research part numbers in a catalog.
- Ability to obtain a local Class E Driver’s License.
- Willingness to drive a company vehicle within a four County/Regional radius to perform Job Duties.
- Good motivational, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills to work alone and with others.

- Able to lift 25-50 lbs. unassisted and regularly.
- Physically able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for 300 pounds or less.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
