Local Truck Driver Home Daily CDL A

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Clarksville, TN for a local home‑daily route delivering auto parts to Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Mississippi. The position uses a day‑cab tractor with a 53’ dry‑van trailer and requires strong backing skills. Drivers operate well‑maintained trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 locations nationwide.

Pay

• Weekly earnings of $1,280 or more
• Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days
• Shutdown bonus: $2,000 within the first year
• Safety bonus: $250 per quarter (if applicable)

Schedule

• Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday
• Start time: open to AM or PM based on bid system

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading when required by the customer
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Pass Ryder drug test and background/motor‑vehicle check (including 3 years of drug/alcohol verification)
• Pass DOT physical and Ryder road test
• Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements
• Class A verifiable experience:
  • 9 months within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years within the past 5 years, OR
  • 5 years within the past 10 years
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Additional screening may be required for certain positions (employment/education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, road test, customer‑specific background requirements)
