About the role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local home‑daily routes in the Nashville, TN area. Drivers operate well‑maintained, late‑model tractors (36 months or newer) pulling 53‑foot dry vans, hauling no‑touch auto parts to TN, KY, IN, MS, AL, AR. The position offers weekly pay, a shutdown bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading/unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years).
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide a valid Class A CDL with any required endorsements.
• Have verifiable Class A tractor‑trailer experience: either 9 months within the past 3 years, OR 2 years within the last 5 years, OR 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
• Some positions may require additional screening such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer‑specific badging or background requirements.

Pay

• Earn $1,355 or more per week.
• Shutdown bonus: $2,000 paid in two installments during the first year.

Schedule

• Work schedule: Monday – Friday OR Tuesday – Saturday.
• Start time: must be open to AM or PM due to the bid system.
