About The Role

The Barry Callebaut local truck driver will be responsible for the safe and secure transportation of all Barry Callebaut goods throughout the Barry Callebaut network. Working hours: Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety compliance- Following all safety regulations related to truck operation, including all regulations concerning local, state, and federal regulations
  • Driving-To safely transport Barry Callebaut materials from within your working state. This would include traveling to and from any Barry Callebaut manufacturing sites, warehouses, and vendors in a professional manner
  • Ensure accuracy of all Bill Of Ladings, by ensuring that products are of and for Barry Callebaut and the accuracy of same, and pick-up and delivery as instructed
  • Conduct Pre/Post trip inspections- They are mandatory for commercial motor vehicle drivers, requiring them to check key components like service brakes, parking brakes, steering mechanism, lights, tires, horns, windshield wipers, rear-vision mirrors, and coupling devices before operating the vehicle, ensuring the vehicle is in safe working order
  • Route Planning- Familiarizing oneself with routes, navigating through different areas, and adjusting to changing traffic conditions
  • Documentation-Maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and other necessary paperwork
  • Customer service-Interacting with customers at delivery points, ensuring timely deliveries and the utmost professionalism
  • FMCSA HOS- Driver must know, understand, and practice all Hours of Service rules and regulations for North America

About you

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Truck Driver
  • Familiarity with the Bethlehem, PA area
  • Availability to work flexible schedules
  • Understanding North American Traffic laws/DOT regulations
  • CDL Class A -Clean driving record, with no more than 2 moving violations within the last 2 years
  • Proficient in using computers, EOD systems, and smartphones
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
