About the role
We are seeking a Local Operations Supervisor to oversee and develop the local operations team. The role reports to the Assistant General Manager and involves managing daily operations, training, and supporting management.
Responsibilities
- Confirm daily routes and ensure Local Delivery Drivers are available
- Oversee Pickup Counter Associates and assist with customer assistance
- Communicate with Local Delivery Drivers during their routes
- Work with the Customer Service Team in Slack
- Schedule new orders into WorkWave
- Ensure vehicles are functioning and up-to-date for maintenance
- Oversee waves, replenishment, picking, and packing
- Communicate departmental personnel issues to the General Manager
- Collaborate with the General Manager on hiring, training, and disciplinary actions
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to push/pull up to 60 pounds independently
- Standing and walking for up to 8-10 hours, up to 20,000 steps per day
- 1-2 years of leadership experience in a fulfillment, warehouse, or distribution environment
- Proven experience in overseeing operations, training, and achieving departmental goals
- Working knowledge of WMS, RF scanners, and standard operating procedures
- Strong understanding of safety practices and ability to promote a safe work environment
- Direct fleet, transportation, routing, or delivery management experience
- Gig platform familiarity
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience collaborating cross-functionally to implement process improvements or operational initiatives
- Familiarity with performance management, including conducting feedback sessions and supporting employee development
