Local Grind Coffee Shop Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Schedule, timekeep, and conduct daily pre-shift meetings
• Maintain and document daily pre-shift meetings and staff meetings
• Monitor and ensure health and safety of staff and customers
• Ensure proper guest service through thorough training in service sequence, product knowledge, and meeting guest needs
• Handle cash handling, safe verification, and daily deposits
• Order and manage inventory monthly
• Manage and audit all cashier open and close procedures
• Follow all audit and money-handling procedures
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness standards
• Interface with client representatives to fulfill catering and engagement event needs
• Supervise the sanitation of work stations including floors, worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, equipment, and utensils
• Control stock and monitor security procedures
• Assist with menu and wine list creation
• Supervise functions

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong math skills
• Knowledge in cooking, menu planning, costing, ordering, and scheduling of kitchen workers
• Knowledge of inventory control, supplies, equipment, and food production
• Leadership and management skills
• Computer proficiency, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
• High School graduate, formal college education in hospitality, preferred
• Current alcohol awareness certification
• Microsoft Office proficiency to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher programs, POS system competency, Time Keeping competency
• Ability to work and stand for extended periods of time (8-12 hours per shift)
• Previous experience working in food & beverage or a restaurant environment, previous experience working as a barista, preferred
