Local Delivery Driver (CDL B)

About the role

As an Ambassador for Airgas, the Service & Delivery Professional takes pride in the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business partners. Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company‑provided straight or box truck, you will manage the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with the customers you visit. You will be part of a supportive professional team that encourages personal growth and internal mobility, while ensuring work/life balance.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements (HAZMAT is required).
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions OR two (2) at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years.
• Must be able to work in a drug‑free environment.
• Must be able to regularly lift 75 lbs and move more than 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience.
• 1 year of CDL experience (additional).

Pay

$25.00 – $27.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $500 monthly bonus.
