About the role
Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a dynamic Truck Driver to join our team in Watsonville, CA. As a Local Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for delivering compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and associated products to various customer locations. You will follow a computer-generated local route and engage with customers to provide excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products to customers by making an average of 10-12 stops per day
- Touch freight, complete paperwork, and provide excellent customer service
- Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
- Complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations
- Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
- Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers
- Ensure accountability through collaboration and interpersonal skills
Requirements
- 2 years of consecutive driving experience or recent truck driving school certification
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current Hazmat Endorsement on CDL (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or other moving violations in the past 2 years
- No alcohol-related convictions within the last 10 years
- Pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds
- Read and write in English
- High School or G.E.D. required
- At least 21 years old
