About the role

TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a local contract Speech Language Pathologist for a local contract job in Newport Beach, California.

Responsibilities

  • Affirms patients for speech related therapy needs
  • Establishes treatment goals and develops and implements appropriate Speech Pathology treatment programs
  • Reviews medical history, applies screening tests, and meets with patients to determine clinical needs, impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities
  • Collaborates with patients and families to establish a plan of care, including expected intensity, duration of therapy, and discharge recommendations
  • Provides education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding the purpose of activities, use of equipment, home exercises, and activities
  • Performs regular re-examinations and solicits feedback from patients, families, and multidisciplinary medical teams
  • Manages multiple patients simultaneously, providing services and required documentation in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner
  • Participates in outside continuing education and incorporates new information into practice
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Assists with orienting new staff and acts as a clinical instructor for interns
  • Conducts literature reviews and staff consultations as needed
  • Attends specific clinical education coursework meeting California Board of Physical Therapy guidelines and provides in-services to staff

Requirements

  • Eighteen (18) months of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Experience and knowledge base in a wide range of diagnoses including general medicine, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, gastroenterology, and otolaryngology
  • Home health experience required
  • Experience with geriatrics required
  • Will see patients in their homes
  • Equipment provided - pick up from facility

Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of California
  • Current BLS Certification required
