Local Contract Speech Language Pathologist - $65-70 per hour

About the role

RCM HealthCare Travel is seeking a local contract Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week job in Trenton, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to school students in Trenton, NJ.
• Evaluate, provide therapy, and recommend strategies for the prevention and remediation of speech, language, and hearing disorders.
• Develop and implement screening procedures to identify students needing corrective speech, language, and/or hearing instruction.
• Participate on the Child Study Team and conduct diagnostic evaluations.
• Plan and deliver therapy for students with speech, language, and/or hearing deficiencies.
• Monitor the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and participate in Annual Reviews.
• Assist with referrals to community resources and provide information and counseling to parents and teachers.
• Coordinate with outside agencies for Teacher of the Deaf consultation and audiological services.
• Continue to evaluate and modify communication devices and programs for students using Assistive Technology.
• Provide in-class language lessons and consult with parents and related disciplines.
• Attend required staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
• Conduct or provide staff development sessions and educational programs for parents.
• Notify appropriate personnel of evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, or other serious conditions.
• Summarize, interpret, and disseminate current developments in speech and language pathology.
• Complete required continuing professional development hours.

Requirements

• Hold a valid New Jersey educational services certificate in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:27.1 et seq., and N.J.A.C. Title 6A Chapter 9 with a Speech Language Specialist or a Speech Language Specialist endorsement.
• Demonstrate the ability to evaluate, provide therapy, and recommend strategies for the prevention and remediation of speech, language, and hearing disorders.
• Show excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
• Show knowledge and understanding of speech-language pathology, child growth and development, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
• Show an understanding of current rules and regulations regarding Child Study Teams and special education assessment and program requirements.
• Show enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Show the ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
• Show the ability to use technology effectively.

Qualifications
