Local Contract Progressive Care Unit RN - $46 per hour
About the role
Stability Healthcare is seeking a local contract nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This role is also referred to as a Tele Step-Down RN, and the PCU may be known as cardiac stepdown, medical stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown, or ER holding. PCU nurses provide care between general and ICU levels, and increasingly within critical care settings.
This is a 13-week local contract with a start date of 08/17/2026, requiring 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), bridging the gap between general and ICU care.
- Manage patient care in step-down units, including cardiac, medical, neuro, surgical, or ER holding.

Pay
Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
