About the role
We are seeking a local contract nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a 13-week assignment in Lafayette, Indiana. The position offers 36 hours per week, with shifts of 12 hours, days.
Responsibilities
- Perform surgical procedures under the supervision of anesthesiologists and surgeons
- Assist with preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care
- Ensure sterile technique and maintain aseptic conditions
- Communicate effectively with surgical teams and patients
- Manage patient flow and assist with equipment setup and maintenance
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- OR experience preferred but not required
- Experience with anesthesia management
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Passing score on the NCLEX-RN exam
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of operating room protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Proficient in operating room technology
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently
