We are looking for qualified Class A Drivers for our LTL & FTL Division. As a LTL/FTL Class A Driver for UNIS Transportation you will transport non-hazardous freight with consistent volumes picking up and delivering to our rapidly expanding nationwide network of terminals. This is Monday through Friday; 1st Shift start time between 4am – 6am. Valid Class A CDL and acceptable DOT/Safety driving record. Meet or exceed the medical standards of the US Department of Transportation and possess a valid DOT Medical card. No DUI’s or major driving violations. Satisfactorily pass a drug and alcohol test. Willing to submit a background check and provide employment recommendations. Must have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection and maintenance Responsibilities 1. Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on local routes during 1st shift, adhering to all federal, state, and company regulations while maintaining a high standard of defensive driving.2. Execute scheduled pickups and deliveries accurately and on time, including verifying loads, securing freight, and completing required documentation such as bills of lading and delivery receipts.3. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, promptly reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to maintenance and operations teams.4. Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to resolve routing issues, delays, or access challenges and ensure service expectations are met.5. Keep accurate electronic or paper logs in line with DOT Hours of Service regulations, and follow all company policies related to safety, incident reporting, and quality standards. Minimum Requirements: 1. Valid U.S. Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record that meets company and insurance requirements.2. Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating Class A vehicles in local or regional routes, including backing into docks and maneuvering in tight urban or industrial environments.3. Ability to work 1st shift schedules as assigned, including early morning start times, and meet physical requirements of the job (lifting, bending, climbing in/out of cab, handling freight as needed).4. Knowledge of and adherence to FMCSA/DOT regulations, Hours of Service rules, and basic vehicle safety standards.5. Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to pass required background checks, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, and drug/alcohol screening. Preferred Requirements: 2. Experience operating in a similar industry environment (e.g., distribution, manufacturing, retail logistics) with familiarity in dock procedures and warehouse coordination.4. Endorsements such as HazMat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples, where relevant to the company’s freight profile.5. Strong customer-facing experience, including handling delivery issues professionally and representing the company brand at customer sites.
