CAI provides professional services designed to support the safety, security, and operational needs of its clients while maintaining high standards of professionalism, discretion, and service.

This is a full-time, W-2 position with a one-year embedded assignment at the client site in Santa Clara, California. There is potential for direct hire by the client following successful completion of the assignment, based on performance and client need.

About the role

The Lobby Reception Ambassador serves as the first point of contact for employees, executives, candidates, and visitors at a confidential corporate client site in Santa Clara. This role combines front desk operations, access control, administrative support, and customer service, requiring strong security awareness alongside a polished guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome employees, executives, candidates, partners, vendors, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage the visitor admittance process, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials, and connect guests with their intended hosts.
  • Maintain awareness of activity in and around the reception area and prevent unauthorized individuals from entering controlled spaces.
  • Address access control, visitor management, and front desk issues in accordance with established security procedures.
  • Assist employees with badge-related requests, parking validations, deliveries, and general workplace questions.
  • Support the Executive Briefing Center, executive visits, meetings, and company events.
  • Answer incoming calls, take and distribute messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Receive, organize, and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate visitor records, access logs, and incident documentation.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or policy violations to Security leadership or appropriate personnel.
  • Respond calmly and professionally to challenging individuals, unauthorized access attempts, and high-pressure situations.
  • Protect sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information.
  • Support administrative programs and special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with Security, Workplace, Facilities, Events, and Executive Support teams.

Requirements

  • Previous security experience, preferably in a corporate, technology, hospitality, executive, or high-visibility environment.
  • Minimum two years of experience in security, reception, hospitality, customer service, or workplace operations.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly.
  • Reliable transportation and a reliable means of communication.
  • Must meet all applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for security personnel.
  • Must successfully complete background checks, drug screening, and reference checks as a condition of employment.
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute with accuracy, as demonstrated through a typing assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strong security awareness with attentive customer service, including situational awareness and sound decision-making consistent with department policy.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience preparing clear and professional logs, reports, and correspondence.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Ability to learn visitor management, access control, badging, and ticketing platforms.
  • Responsibility for accurate and timely incident and activity documentation.

Physical Requirements

This role may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, regular computer and keyboard use, occasional walking throughout the facility, and lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds. Schedule flexibility and occasional overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Schedule

Monday through Friday during standard business hours. This is an onsite role in Santa Clara, California, and is not remote or hybrid. No relocation assistance is available.

Pay

$32.00 per hour.

Notes

This role is not suited for individuals seeking a passive or purely administrative front desk position. It requires consistent engagement, active situational awareness, and the ability to make sound, independent decisions in a live security environment.

Based on demonstrated performance, there may be opportunities to advance into other positions within the client's corporate security program over time. Advancement is not guaranteed and depends on performance, client need, and available openings.
