RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing LLC is a fully integrated, non-bank mortgage company with a subservicing portfolio of approximately 900,000 loans. Acquired by Two Harbors Investment Corp. (NYSE: TWO) in 2023, RoundPoint combines operational strengths to deliver value in the mortgage finance space.
About the role
The Loan Processor supports both the origination and operation functions of residential conventional and government mortgages, ensuring high levels of customer service for internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Review all documents submitted by borrower within 48 hours of receipt.
- Direct communication with all borrowers via email and/or phone, returning all calls within 24 hours.
- Review accuracy and completeness of Loan Application, Automated Underwriting System, and Credit Report.
- Review entire credit report for accuracy, including correct name (Jr, Sr, etc.), property addresses (within 2 years and not on URLA), recent inquiries, liabilities, collections, Social Security numbers, and any possible alerts.
- Order and retrieve 3rd party services (e.g., Credit report, Credit refresh, Credit supplements, Tax transcripts, Flood certificates, Fraud guard, VOE’s, Payoffs).
- Review initial disclosures and check for signatures and dates.
- Review and calculate all types of income and other mortgage-related documents.
- Order all related condo documents if applicable (e.g., Master policy, budget, condo questionnaire).
- Review and analyze appraisal reports for accuracy (e.g., name & property address, value, and date of appraisal).
- Review title reports for effective date, loan amount, proposed insured, open liens/judgments, and tax information.
- Update Encompass to ensure current and accurate data.
- Submit complete file to Underwriter for initial underwrite & final review.
- Clear all prior-to-doc conditions.
- Use the conversation log in Encompass to notate loan files and maintain effective communication with all parties.
- Manage pipeline to ensure closing dates are met.
- Participate in weekly pipeline reviews with the Loan Officer and Processing Manager to provide status updates on all files.
- Assist closing & post-closing with any additional documents or information needed to close out files.
- Stay informed of trends and developments in the mortgage industry, including regulation changes.
- Meet compliance commitments and keep abreast of new industry products and guidelines.
- Redisclose for change in circumstances if applicable.
- Conduct title review and updates.
- Order additional appraisal reports if applicable (e.g., final inspection).
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 4+ years of mortgage experience in a mortgage processing position.
- Ability to verify all elements of a 1003, credit report, title quotes, tax certs, AUS, and mortgage Insurance.
- Working knowledge of conventional and government loan programs.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a high-volume, ever-changing mortgage industry.
- Knowledge of consumer regulations—RESPA, TILA, TRID, HMDA, ECOA, and all Fair Lending laws.
- Proficiency in Encompass LOS preferred; ability to learn and operate effectively in other business technology applications required.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills to promote productive working relationships.
- Maintain a sense of urgency and professionalism when communicating with external clients.
- Ability to effectively communicate across multiple departments—originations, underwriting, secondary, processing, and closing.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Qualifications
- Associate degree (desired).
- Encompass experience (desired).
- Advanced working knowledge of Word and Excel (desired).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-tech, and paperless business environment (desired).
Physical Demands & Working Conditions

- Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate; no extreme conditions are present.
