About the role
The Junior Loan Officer is responsible for many Loan Officer activities for the loan origination team. They develop and maintain a strong client referral base by selling the firm’s loan products and services to meet the needs of its client base such as realtors, builders, home buyers, CPA’s, financial planners and others. They grow the team’s production and create their own production.
Responsibilities
- Solicit and originate loans that are acceptable to the company’s chosen investors and agencies.
- Support loan officers with realtor, builder, and partner outreach.
- Manage and track referral partner follow-ups.
- Prepare contact lists and outreach schedules.
- Maintain and update CRM records (realtors, past clients, prospects).
- Track touchpoints, notes, and follow-up reminders.
- Auxiliary in marketing campaigns (email, social, events).
- Coordinate co-branded materials with realtors.
- Schedule and post social media content (as directed).
- Work with corporate or third-party marketing vendors when needed.
- Help plan and coordinate: Realtor events, open houses, lunch-and-learns, community or networking events.
- Manage invitations, RSVPs, and post-event follow-ups.
- Track event outcomes and leads.
- Prepare marketing packets and presentations.
- Organize calendars related to business development activities.
- Aid in reporting (activity tracking, outreach metrics).
- Handle light administrative tasks to keep workflows moving.
- Support as a professional point of contact for partners and clients.
- Ensure timely responses and follow-through.
- Maintain a polished, consistent brand experience.
- Follow through on all professional conditions and continued education requirements for licensure.
- Occasionally participate in branch/headquarter meetings that require attendance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma required.
- College Degree in Business or Finance preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 1+ years of loan originator experience, loan officer assistant experience, or strong sales experience with demonstrated potential to transfer skills to mortgage origination.
- Minimum of 1+ year of marketing experience in sales environment.
- Experience supporting a manager on a day to day basis or experience as an executive assistant.
- Detail oriented, organized with strong follow-up & time management skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Interpersonal skills that forge professional relationships and support, strong oral, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and communicate at a level consistent with the requirements of this position and to generate independent leads for new business.
- To be knowledgeable and articulate regarding all aspects of the loan products offered such as FHA/VA, FHLMC, FNMA, JUMBO and all other Area, City, State, County and National loan programs that the company offers.
- Strong skillset in social media marketing and ability to gain customer interaction with such marketing techniques.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must obtain or currently have an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license through NMLS prior to receiving a job offer.

Schedule
