Loan Officer - Internal
About the role
WSECU is seeking a motivated and member-focused Mortgage Loan Officer to join our Residential Lending team. In this role, you’ll partner closely with branch staff and internal teams to serve members’ home financing needs, guiding them through the mortgage process with expertise and care. You’ll manage a strong pipeline of primarily inbound opportunities, deliver timely and compliant loan solutions, and build lasting relationships that reflect WSECU’s Brand Promise.
Responsibilities
- Originate mortgage loans by promoting and delivering WSECU’s mortgage and home equity products to members and prospective members within assigned branches.
- Build strong relationships with branch staff and partners to support member needs and drive internal referrals.
- Price, structure, and disclose loans accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Meet or exceed individual production and service goals.
- Deliver an exceptional member experience by communicating proactively, managing expectations, and ensuring timely, high-quality loan closings.
- Manage a pipeline of loans, including submitting complete and accurate loan packages and maintaining consistent follow-through.
- Maintain NMLS licensing and stay current on products, systems, and mortgage industry trends and competition.
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, and Community Homeownership initiatives.
- Support branch and team operations by participating in huddles, educating staff, covering queues as needed, and maintaining regular branch presence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and member experience.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of demonstrated mortgage loan origination experience, including familiarity with FHA/VA requirements.
- College degree in business or closely related field is preferred (related experience may be substituted, year for year, for academic achievement).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with condos, jumbo loans, and manufactured homes.
Pay
Competitive pay: $30.47 - $45.70 hourly + commission, dependent on relevant qualifications, plus an annual discretionary incentive plan. The target starting pay for this position is $30.47 - $38.08 hourly, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, full time (minimum 40 hours per week), with scheduling flexibility required to meet the needs of this non-exempt position.
Location
This role operates out of WSECU branches in the Spokane and/or Yakima areas, with some expected days at our HQ location (330 Union Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501).
