Loader/Unloader - 2nd Shift (11am to 7pm) 6809
About the role
We are hiring a Loader/Unloader for our Daniels medical waste treatment facility in Des Moines, IA. The role is varied and includes checking in containers, verifying paperwork, moving and unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. The ideal candidate enjoys variety in their work and can solve practical problems.
Location: 1617 NE 51st Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313
Responsibilities
- Weigh incoming sharps and regulated medical waste containers using our Weighbridge
- Drive a forklift and operate hand trucks once trained
- Lift up to 55 lbs and push four-wheeled carts weighing up to 200 lbs
- Pay close attention to detail, especially with required paperwork
- Stand for extended periods comfortably
- Work well within a team environment
Requirements
- Can-do attitude with a commitment to efficient, timely scheduling
- Previous experience in a labor-intensive job, including repetitive lifting of 50–75 lb containers
- Proven longevity with previous employers
