Loader Operator - RiverBend Materials (Salem, OR)

About the role

This position involves the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders, excavators, and a water truck to assist with the production of aggregates. You will play an important role in reinventing the way our world is built. This position requires travel between the Eugene and Corvallis sites as needed for business demands.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Keep machines clean and maintained.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit.
• Travel to and from various locations.
• Assist labor crew including shoveling of materials and daily plant operations.
• Promptly communicate with paving crew on any flaws in material.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Regular and timely attendance.

Requirements

• One to two years front-end wheel loader experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, and multiply.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Safety-minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all other company or state rules and regulations.
• Current US authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical skills.
• Basic knowledge of aggregate products.
• Experience with other kinds of heavy equipment.

Pay

$28/hour, with potential for overtime.

Schedule

Primarily 10-12 hours per day, 5 days per week, and up to 6 days per week during the busy construction season. Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
