Loader Operator - NC, Newport

About the role

Operate big equipment to move sand, gravel, and cement at SRM Concrete, a family-owned ready mix concrete company. Play a vital part in keeping our concrete plants moving every day.

Responsibilities

• Take the wheel of powerful front-end loaders and other heavy equipment
• Load and unload trucks, hoppers, bins, and conveyors
• Work side-by-side with your crew and production team to keep things running on schedule
• Check your equipment before and after each shift
• Let the team know if something needs fixing
• Keep the plant a safe place for everyone
• Pitch in to keep your work area clean and organized
• Count inventory and ensure materials are never low
• Share ideas with plant leaders to improve operations
• Lend a hand wherever needed

Requirements

• Experience running loaders or other big machines (but willingness to learn is a plus)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Care about safety and speak up if something’s not right
• Know how to check equipment and handle basic fixes
• Physically able to handle a job that keeps you moving in all kinds of weather

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is helpful, but not required
• Willingness to complete pre-employment screenings
