Loader Operator

About the role

The Loader Operator contributes to the production team to ensure goals are met safely and efficiently while conforming to company policies. This position involves processing vehicles to produce core and scrap products, enabling customers to pull parts, and satisfying environmental requirements. The role focuses primarily on Front Loader operation and various material handling duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Front Loader, Crusher, Fork Lift, or Skid Steer to move vehicles, cores, scrap, and other materials safely through the yard.
• Ensure loads are positioned and placed securely.
• Use various tool attachments to segregate and dismantle light passenger vehicles.
• Perform pre-operations checks and other inspections/cleaning as prescribed in the Certification course.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment (preferred).
• Experience in automotive repair or dismantling (preferred).
• Experience with automotive parts and/or retail customers (preferred).
• Experience with tools and machinery (preferred).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and stretching required outside in various weather conditions for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to sit for 6-8 hours per day in 2-3 hour intervals.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Good hand-eye coordination and motor skills to safely operate equipment in an active work area.
• Regular and peripheral vision sufficient to safely operate equipment and perform job functions.
• Hearing must be sufficient to safely operate equipment in an active work area.

Job Conditions

• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Periodic exposure to minimal chemical hazards.
