About the Role
Operates a crawler or rubber-tired machine mounted with a loader bucket. Used to load structures and dirt from excavations, loading trucks, pipe, and precast concrete structures.
Cash Construction, a division of MasTec, is a leader in the construction service industry, completing projects involving water and wastewater utilities, drainage improvements, lift stations, pump stations, dry utilities, and roadwork. Our client base includes local municipalities, counties, the Texas Department of Transportation, private developers, and various other entities.
Responsibilities
- Check oil, water, fuel, tires, hydraulic system, etc., and make appropriate adjustments to ensure the vehicle is in proper operating condition prior to leaving for the job site.
- Conduct safety and maintenance checks on assigned equipment and machinery.
- Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
- Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading/unloading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, and falling objects.
- Perform maintenance work on equipment including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.
Requirements
- One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which involve sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in all types of weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, etc.
