Loader Operator

About the role
The Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating a loader to support asphalt plant operations, maintain raw material inventory, and ensure continuous plant production. This role also assists with plant maintenance, housekeeping, and other operational duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a wheel loader to move, stockpile, and load materials in support of asphalt plant operations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and perform routine equipment checks.
- Maintain material inventory and ensure adequate supply of aggregates and other raw materials.
- Assist with daily plant operations to meet production schedules and customer demands.
- Support plant housekeeping efforts and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Perform routine plant maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs when not actively operating the loader.
- Assist plant personnel with troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and equipment repairs as directed.
- Travel and work between multiple local plant locations as business needs require.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Adhere to all MSHA, OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to safely operate a wheel loader and other heavy equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime, varying shifts, and weekends as required.
- Ability and willingness to work between multiple local plant locations.
- Comfortable working at heights and performing work on elevated structures and equipment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes.
- Reliable attendance and dependability.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Previous loader, heavy equipment, construction, aggregate, mining, or asphalt industry experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Pay
Starting pay: $20.00 per hour.
