Load Planner

About the role

This position involves managing daily inbound and outbound shipments using a TMS system, ensuring accurate tracking of ETAs, in-warehouse dates, and system updates. You will report delays, cost impacts, and operational issues while working to resolve systemic delivery problems.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily inbound/outbound shipments using TMS system, tracking ETAs and in-warehouse dates
• Update internal systems and report delays, failed loads, OS&D issues, and branch/cross-dock scheduling conflicts
• Negotiate lane rates using bidding software and department resources for RFPs to secure the lowest rates
• Communicate with operations, buying teams, shippers, and branches to address problems and delays
• Create and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports
• Prioritize tasks based on operational impact and address systemic issues causing delivery delays (e.g., carrier performance, buyer communications, vendor/branch loading/unloading problems)

Qualifications

• Ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of workload
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented mindset

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• 1+ years of logistics experience (preferred)
