Lo Drill Operator

About the role
The Lo Drill Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating lo-drill equipment to perform drilling activities for construction and utility projects. Work is completed based on project requirements, layout, and supervisor direction. Responsibilities include equipment operation, basic maintenance, required documentation, and adherence to Crux Subsurface and IBEW safety and work practices. Work is performed in remote and demanding field environments.
Responsibilities
- Operate lo-drill equipment to complete drilling tasks according to project requirements and supervisor direction.
- Perform drill setup, site layout, equipment positioning, alignment checks, and drilling to required depths or diameters.
- Install materials or components as required for the assigned drilling scope (excluding grout-based foundation systems).
- Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform routine maintenance, and communicate repair needs to supervision.
- Ensure equipment is operated only by qualified and authorized personnel.
- Complete daily documentation including drill reports, timesheets, borehole logs, equipment inspection forms, and tailboards.
- Operate ancillary equipment such as telehandlers, Morooka carriers, mini excavators, crew trucks, and cranes (as applicable).
- Follow Crux safety programs, including PPE requirements, JSAs, tailboards, and project-specific safety plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized drill site and restore/exit locations to client expectations.
- Perform work in compliance with IBEW agreements, practices, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of drilling operations.
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted Driver License with acceptable driving record; Class A CDL preferred.
- OSHA-10 certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- NCCCO certification or equivalent preferred.
Pay
The anticipated compensation for this position varies depending on experience and qualifications.
