Duties / Tasks
- Punch in on time and is available for work at the beginning of each workday.
- Affixes to safe setup and breakdown of work zone.
- Operates directional boring machine and drill for underground utility placement.
- Drills and pulls back conduit, cable, and fiber.
- Loads, unloads, and identifies job materials, machinery, and tools, at appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
- Operates backhoe as needed.
- Drives trucks/vehicles while towing loaded trailers.
- Digs ditches / trenches, backfill excavations, and grades earth to specifications, using picks, shovels and other tools.
- Assists in the installation of pipes and risers.
- Assists in locating utilities and setting pedestals.
- Is neatly groomed and wears company uniform.
- Notifies supervisor of any unsafe equipment or working conditions.
- Attends safety meetings as required.
- Reads and checks prints.
- Prepares to work in outside weather conditions.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1-2 Years previous experience with Boring Drill and related equipment.
- Skills: Knowledge to read and interpret engineered drawings.
- Licenses or Certifications: Class A CDL License; clean driving record.
