Drill Operator

About the role

Martin Marietta is seeking a safety-conscious, dependable, and motivated Drill Operator to join our team in the Greensboro District (Greensboro, North Carolina). This role involves safely and efficiently operating a track-mounted Kelly Bar rotary drill using water medium for flush, preparing areas for shots, performing equipment maintenance, and assisting in loading and stemming blast patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operate a drill and associated equipment within company guidelines and safety standards.
• Complete day-to-day activities of drill operations, including daily/monthly machine inspections, greasing, drill logs, and replacing bits as needed.
• Perform maintenance on drill and pump systems.
• Aid in loading and stemming of blast patterns.
• Participate in safety inspections, plant safety programs, and follow company and MSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Operate other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks safely as needed.
• Assist in training co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position.
• Experience in hydraulic and electrical systems (preferred).
• Experience with Kelly Bar driven drills (preferred).
• Experience with electric-powered drills (preferred).
• ATF Clearance (a plus).

Schedule

Hours: 6AM - 6PM, weekends as necessary.
