LNG Operations Technician I/II/III (I&E Focused)

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks to safely maintain equipment and support operations
  • Tests, calibrates and validates process safety devices and equipment
  • Responsible for data analysis and collaboration with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems
  • Follows all company policies and applies appropriate operating and maintenance procedures
  • Installs and maintains electrical equipment associated with power distribution systems and electrical safety code
  • Acquires knowledge of and adheres to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets
  • Maintains general knowledge of site/location/equipment/specific permits and compliance
  • Troubleshoots, operates, repairs and maintains mechanical and electrical systems including both low and high voltage equipment and uninterruptible power supply systems
  • Removes, repairs and reinstalls sensing elements for flow, temperature, pressure and level measurement
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Education/Years of Experience:
    • LNG Operations Technician Sr. - Required: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years related experience in natural gas industry experience or equivalent experience
    • LNG Operations Technician III - Required: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years related experience in natural gas industry experience or equivalent experience. Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and technical licenses/certificates
    • LNG Operations Technician II - Required: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two (1) years related experience in natural gas industry experience or equivalent experience. Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree
    • LNG Operations Technician I - Required: High School Diploma/GED Preferred: Associates or two-year technical degree; minimum six (6) months mechanical, technical, or controls systems experience in the oil and gas industry or operations technician summer internship with Associates Degree
  • Physical and Environmental Work Requirements: Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces, carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed, stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time, work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), use hand tools, work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises, may be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
  • Qualified to operate the LNG facility in holding mode (boil off gas), liquefaction and vaporization process as well as all associated tasks. Must understand and be able to operate all utility and emergency systems in the facility independently when required. Carries out moderate to highly sophisticated technical assignments with limited oversight
