LMHC/LMSW- Troy City School District and Surrounding CSDs - Crime Victim Services

LMHC/LMSW position serving the Troy City School District and surrounding Capital-School Districts within St. Peter’s Health Partners.

About the role

The LMSW/LMHC provides trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups who have survived sexual, physical, domestic violence, stalking, and other crimes. This role partners directly with the Troy City School District to deliver on-site services to student survivors and extends support to neighboring districts where needs are identified. Crisis response via the program’s 24-Hour Hotline, emergency-department accompaniments, legal advocacy, and service referrals are core duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a weekly therapy caseload of 20–25 individual client sessions.
• Deliver crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling/therapy, support groups, and NYS Office of Victim Services compensation assistance.
• Collaborate with Troy City School District and surrounding districts to provide on-site direct services to student survivors.
• Staff the program’s 24-Hour Hotline as needed.
• Maintain electronic and paper records in compliance with program requirements, agency confidentiality standards, and timelines.
• Train new staff, volunteers, and per diems.
• Conduct outreach within and outside the St. Peter’s Health Partners system.
• Make referrals for additional services victims/survivors may require.
• Build and sustain relationships with service organizations and institutions serving at-risk and high-needs communities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
• LMHC or LMSW preferred; candidates working toward licensure will be considered.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and dependable transportation.
• Previous experience providing counseling to individuals and groups ages 12 and older strongly desired.
• Experience working with victims/survivors of crime preferred.
• Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System desired.
• NYS Department of Health Sexual Assault Counselor Certification required; training provided at no cost if not already certified.

Pay

Hourly range: $30.00 – $43.08. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base-salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The range may vary by location.
