LME Maintenance Technician II/III (Swing Shift)

About the role

A-dec Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) Technician II maintains plant equipment at optimum efficiency, with a focus on CNC (Computer Numeric Control) equipment. This role uses preventive maintenance practices to drive continuous improvement in machine reliability, applies troubleshooting skills to resolve technical, mechanical, and electrical problems, and collaborates with operations to improve machine efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical machine electrical and mechanical repairs with limited support and guidance.
• Utilize electronic instrumentation (e.g., scopes, meters) to troubleshoot electrical control/drive systems, single and 3-phase power up to 480V, and VFDs (variable frequency drives).
• Apply fabrication skills to assist in moderately complex department projects.
• Collaborate with and sometimes lead maintenance projects to improve machine reliability.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts, emphasizing permanent resolutions to problems.
• Maintain maintenance records in CMMS (Cribmaster) and order preventive maintenance supplies as needed.
• Cross-train on various machines to act as a backup for more experienced Maintenance Mechanics.
• Perform basic and advanced preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Follow and adhere to all ISO, OSHA, and DEQ requirements.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing equipment.
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of electronic instrumentation (e.g., scopes, meters).
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical control/drive systems, single and 3-phase power up to 480V, and VFDs.
• Understanding of mechanical/electrical repair practices and troubleshooting techniques for hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of servos and open/closed-loop feedback systems.
• Understanding of control systems (e.g., PLCs, relay logic, pneumatic logic).
• Familiarity with NEC (National Electric Code) and Oregon Electric Code.
• Working knowledge of computers and ability to learn new programs (e.g., CMMS/CribMaster).
• Understanding of production machinery tolerances and ability to fabricate repair parts.
• Must fulfill the minimum qualifications of LME Technician I.
• Current Oregon LME card.
• HazMat certification or ability to obtain within the first year of employment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds routinely, with or without assistance.
• Manual dexterity to grasp, operate tools, and equipment repetitively.
• Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
• Exposure to chemicals, noise, vibration, and/or dust may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and foot protection.
