About the role

The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A., a respected legal institution founded in 1992, specializes in personal injury law in Southwest Florida. The firm handles complex cases including auto accidents and traumatic events, recovering millions for its clients. As the firm expands its non-personal injury practice, it seeks a Litigation Paralegal / Special Projects Paralegal to support a variety of challenging legal matters, particularly in real estate and civil litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Document Drafting: Prepare and review litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other critical legal filings.
  • Case Management: Oversee and maintain organized case files, evidence, and correspondence, ensuring attorneys have timely access to necessary information.
  • Real Estate & Special Matters: Assist with complex real estate disputes, foreclosures, title matters, probate-related matters, and other specialized legal issues.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda to support effective legal strategies and arguments.
  • Client Interaction: Build strong client relationships through professional, responsive communication.
  • Calendar Coordination: Coordinate hearings, depositions, trial preparation, and key litigation deadlines to ensure efficient progress.
  • Administrative Support: Provide executive administrative support, including calendaring, meeting reminders, and other coordination tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience and Skills: At least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience (8+ years preferred), with a strong background in civil litigation. Experience with real estate matters is highly valued.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Filevine (or similar case management software) is preferred, along with proficiency in AI tools like Spellbook and vLex’s Vincent AI.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear, concise, timely, and proactive interaction with attorneys, staff, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain meticulous organization, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability: Dependable, punctual, and accountable, with a proven record of meeting deadlines and fulfilling commitments.
  • Professional Judgment: Curiosity-driven and proactive in asking thoughtful questions, balancing initiative with receptiveness to guidance and feedback.
  • Confidentiality: Strict adherence to confidentiality and sound judgment in handling sensitive legal, client, and firm information.
  • On-Site Engagement: Full-time, in-office position based in Naples, Florida, requiring collaboration and close working relationships with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification from an accredited program.
  • Strong academic background, preferably in a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time, in-office position with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
