Litigation Paralegal – Seattle, WA

About the role
This full-time Paralegal position in our Seattle office provides high-quality support to attorneys in the litigation practice area. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities. Schwabe offers a hybrid work policy, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in-office work Tuesday through Thursday. The first 30 days require in-person attendance Monday through Friday for onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage complex litigation cases from inception through trial and appeal.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and other substantive legal documents.
- Support creditors’ rights activities, including Bankruptcy filings/monitoring, judgment collection efforts (e.g., garnishments or other execution efforts), and judicial and non-judicial foreclosure support.
- Oversee discovery, including document review, vendor coordination, and strategy recommendations.
- Lead trial preparation, including exhibits, witness coordination, and courtroom support.
- Assist with settlement and mediation, including preparation of supporting materials.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
Requirements
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a similar subject is strongly preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Strong understanding of state, local, and federal court rules and procedure.
- Experience with discovery management tools and e-discovery platforms.
- Demonstrated success in trial preparation and courtroom support.
- Exceptional client communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Proficiency with legal technology and document management systems (e.g., iManage, Relativity, CaseMap, OnCue).
