Boardman Clark seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to join our litigation team, providing administrative support and services to attorneys in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.

Responsibilities
- Enter timekeepers’ time entry and expense reimbursement requests.
- Assist with docketing and tracking legal documents, deadlines, and court filings to ensure timely and accurate case management.
- Schedule and calendar appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements as needed.
- Proofread documents and emails for spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Maintain and organize client files and case documents.
- Transcribe dictated recordings into legal documents such as correspondence, motions, and pleadings.
- Schedule and coordinate client appointments.
- Maintain accurate client information in files and throughout their work with the attorney.
- Monitor email, mail, and voicemail.
- Monitor timekeepers’ correspondence and arrange for responses when requested.
- Communicate with clients to provide updates and gather necessary information.
- Serve as backup to other legal assistants throughout the firm.
- Perform other tasks as assigned, including sharing in additional administrative duties.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a legal assistant with a focus in litigation is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma required.
Skills
- Strong word processing and computer skills; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- High attention to detail and sensitivity to confidential materials.
- Ability to work independently and anticipate needed tasks to complete projects.
- Able and willing to learn new electronic programs.
- Excellent grammar, proofreading, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit and/or stand at a desk and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
