Litigation Attorney (Nevada)

About the role

A highly successful, rapidly growing real estate firm in the Las Vegas area is seeking a full-time in-house Litigation Attorney. This role handles a wide range of litigation matters, including ADA claims, personal injury, civil appeals, and contract review. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, independently managing a diverse workload while delivering impeccable work product. Strong communication with leadership, attorneys, paralegals, property managers, and external resources is essential. The position offers work-life balance with no billable hour requirements and is suited for someone focused on the company’s growth and success.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation from inception to resolution (A-Z)
• Report daily to the supervising attorney and take direction on cases and tasks
• Provide daily legal support to Las Vegas Westland employees on various issues
• Respond to complaints and draft motions
• Propound and respond to discovery requests
• Develop case strategy and draft law & motion documents, briefs, and legal research
• Conduct depositions and retain/consult with expert witnesses
• Attend site inspections and take witness statements
• Negotiate settlements and attend mediation/arbitration hearings
• Prepare for and occasionally attend trial

Requirements

• Active Nevada State Bar license with no history of suspension or discipline
• Minimum of 8–12 years of current, relevant litigation experience, including jury trials and arbitration
• California and/or Texas licensure and experience is a bonus but not required

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role requires:

• Sitting for extended periods while drafting documents, conducting research, or attending meetings
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer/keyboard work
• Effective verbal communication with colleagues, outside counsel, and leadership
• Occasional standing, walking, and moving about the office
• Ability to appear in-person at hearings, mediations, or arbitrations when necessary
• Occasional lifting/carrying of items up to 20 pounds (e.g., legal files or document boxes)
• Close vision abilities for extensive reading and computer use

Work Environment:

• Currently 100% remote, with all necessary technology provided by Westland
• May transition to a professional corporate office environment in the future
• Typically quiet to moderate noise levels
• Occasional travel for court appearances, depositions, or off-site meetings

Pay

$160,000 – $190,000
