Responsibilities

  • Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as legal briefs, pleadings
  • Managing insurance defense litigation from inception
  • Conducting legal research and analysis of statutes, legal decisions to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings for review, hearings, and trials
  • Negotiating settlements of civil disputes. Conduct depositions
  • Maintaining professional competence by participating in continuing education programs, reading legal publications, and participating in professional organizations
  • Collaborating with other attorneys in the firm

Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation attorney, with a focus on civil litigation and insurance defense
  • Admission to the TX state bar
  • Proven experience in court trials, arbitrations, and mediations
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A commitment to ethical standards and professional integrity
  • A proven track record of achieving positive legal outcomes for clients

Pay

$100,000 - $140,000 per year

Schedule

Billable requirement is 1900/year. Candidates must be local to the Austin area.
