Responsibilities
- Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as legal briefs, pleadings
- Managing insurance defense litigation from inception
- Conducting legal research and analysis of statutes, legal decisions to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings for review, hearings, and trials
- Negotiating settlements of civil disputes. Conduct depositions
- Maintaining professional competence by participating in continuing education programs, reading legal publications, and participating in professional organizations
- Collaborating with other attorneys in the firm
Qualifications
- A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation attorney, with a focus on civil litigation and insurance defense
- Admission to the TX state bar
- Proven experience in court trials, arbitrations, and mediations
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- A commitment to ethical standards and professional integrity
- A proven track record of achieving positive legal outcomes for clients
Pay
$100,000 - $140,000 per year
Schedule
Billable requirement is 1900/year. Candidates must be local to the Austin area.
