Litigation Attorney

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage medical malpractice cases from inception through trial/arbitration preparation (excluding first-chair trial and arbitration presentations).
• Draft pleadings, motions, and prepare/respond to written discovery while developing litigation and investigation strategies.
• Attend court appearances, represent physicians in deposition-only matters, and assist with trial preparation.
• Collaborate with trial attorneys and Claims Specialists on defense strategy, case preparation, and litigation reporting.
• Respond to Claims Department hotline inquiries, ensure compliance with Defense Attorney Guidelines, and mentor junior attorneys.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in California.
• 3-6 years of medical malpractice litigation experience.
• Strong ability to work independently and develop effective defense strategies.
• Prominent leadership, mentoring, training, and team-building skills.
