Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
- Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial
- Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Develop case strategy and provide analysis on liability, damages, and risk exposure
- Partner with other attorneys and staff to drive efficient case outcomes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in civil litigation defense
- Experience handling general liability, insurance defense, or similar litigation matters
- Strong background in motion practice, discovery, and depositions
- Ability to independently manage a caseload while collaborating with a broader team
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with court appearances and case strategy development
Requirements
- Active bar admission in Massachusetts or Rhode Island or ability to waive in
- Additional bar admissions are a strong plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working within a hybrid schedule structure
Pay
$135,000 - $200,000 per year
Schedule
Hybrid schedule, allowing for both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
