Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day litigation support to attorneys and legal staff within a shared support structure, helping maintain efficient workflow across active matters.
- Prepare, file, and track court submissions through federal and state e-filing systems, including PACER, while ensuring documents meet procedural requirements and deadlines.
- Maintain case calendars by monitoring court dates, filing deadlines, meetings, and other critical milestones using calendaring software such as JuraLaw or CompuLaw.
- Draft, format, revise, and organize legal documents using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and related tools, with close attention to style, accuracy, and presentation.
- Manage electronic files and case records within document management platforms such as iManage to support easy retrieval and proper version control.
- Respond promptly and professionally to requests from attorneys and clients, providing reliable administrative and litigation-related assistance.
- Cook up office support activities and help keep daily operations running smoothly in a fast-paced legal setting.
- Prioritize multiple assignments independently, follow through on deadlines, and collaborate with colleagues to support shared team goals.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in litigation support or legal assistant work within a law firm or similar legal environment.
- Hands-on experience with court filing platforms, including federal and state e-filing systems and PACER.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and legal technology used for document management and case support; experience with iManage, Best Authority, Westlaw, or eDiscovery tools is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills when working with attorneys, clients, and internal staff.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a consistent ability to take ownership of assignments through completion.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
- High level of attention to detail, sound judgment, and care in handling sensitive legal matters.
