Literacy Tutor/Learner Coordinator

About the role

Literacy Tutor/Learner Coordinator positions and positions with Do Your Homework @ the Library program facilitate the daily operations of homework centers and adult literacy programs respectively. These roles involve conducting data collection and assessment, coordinating learner-tutor matches, monitoring progress, supervising volunteers, maintaining resources, managing referrals, promoting the program, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Data collection and assessment to achieve measurable outcomes
• Cooking and coordinating learner-tutor matches
• Maintaining progress and overseeing volunteers
• Maintaining physical space, materials, technology, and supplies
• Maintaining referral sources and data compliance
• Working with diverse populations
• Promoting the program to various community agencies and organizations
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (minimum 120 semester/180 quarter college-level units)
• One year of full-time professional experience working in an education or literacy program

Qualifications

• Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
• A Master's Degree in Education, Teaching, or a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience
