Linux/Lab Systems Administrator (TS/SCI /w Poly required)
About the role
Advance your career in enterprise IT as a Systems Administrator SME at GDIT. Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure, including managing servers, ensuring system availability, and implementing solutions to improve system performance and security.
Responsibilities
- Manage servers, including physical and virtual environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
- Manage Active Directory and other core IT services.
- Maintain system performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as patch management, updates, and backups.
- Plan and execute systems upgrades and hardware/software installations.
- Ensure systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, manage, and test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services.
- Provide support to end users and other IT staff by resolving complex hardware, software, and system-related issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Create reports on system performance, security incidents, and other key metrics.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.
- Provide recommendations for system improvements based on analysis and industry best practices.
- May assist in the development of IT policies and procedures.
- May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
- May serve as a team lead.
Qualifications
- Education: Technical training, certification(s), or degree.
- Experience: 10+ years of related experience.
- Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required.
- Required Proficiency: Linux (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu), Windows Active Directory, LDAP, VMware, management of virtual machines and hypervisors.
- Basic Proficiency Level: Gitlab administration, automated build/runners, Netbackup, implementation and enforcement of security policies, and integration with enterprise security monitor systems and log collections.
- Additional Desired Experience and Tool Familiarity: Ansible.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $152,915 - $206,885. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
