Linux Developer / Automation Engineer

About the role

This role is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.

Responsibilities

• Linux system administration (RHEL preferred)
• Automation and deployment engineering in large-scale environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, automation design)
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python and Bash
• Automate OS patching, software upgrades, and application deployments
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Strong understanding of Linux package management (RPM, YUM/DNF, APT)
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration
• 3+ years of experience in automation and deployment engineering
• Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible Tower/AWX)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, ELK)
• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments (financial services preferred)

Qualifications

• Must have skills: Linux, Ansible, Python (Expert), Bash, CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins)

Preferred / Desired Qualifications

• Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible Tower/AWX)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, ELK)
• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments (financial services preferred)
