Client: A leading global media & entertainment organization

About the Role

ESS ENN Associates is hiring on behalf of a client building Sports feature experiences on Android. The consultant will work closely with developers, designers, and leads to define, build, and ship new features in the client's Sports mobile apps — owning code quality, architecture contributions, and delivery across the engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Build Android apps in Java/Kotlin — new feature development, architecture, unit tests, refactors, and bug/crash fixes for the Sports app.
  • Attend standups (2x per week), work on assigned JIRA stories, and surface blockers early.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to define and deliver features.
  • Dedicate at least 1 hour per day to peer reviews and PR feedback.
  • Share responsibility for app architecture/design reviews, performance tuning, and build pipeline management.
  • Own delivery end-to-end — from executing difficult refactors to planning complex projects with many moving parts.

Success Metrics

  • On-time delivery of quality code meeting project deadlines.
  • Strong code quality reflected in PR reviews.
  • Positive feedback from engineers and leads on the project team.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience shipping high-quality Android apps.
  • Strong coding and code design skills; practitioner of mobile development best practices — OOP principles, design patterns, modular/reusable/testable code, data structures, concurrency, performance profiling and tuning.
  • Expertise in Java, Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, and Git.
  • Up to date on modern Android practices — LiveData, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flows.
  • Expertise in Android app architectures — MVI, MVP, MVVM.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Skills

  • Collaborative; comfortable partnering with developers and designers to define, build, and deliver features.
  • Self-driven and accountable for delivery in a remote engagement.

Duration: 6+ months
Location: Remote
Capacity: Full-Time

  • Update Offer Logic technical specs and collaborate with KB owners to draft and refine new ones. Ensure consistency between specs and live KB content.
  • Troubleshoot product code issues and Cortec-related configuration conflicts. Execute reload testing, integration testing, and UAT for deployments.

  • Support simplification of the MTZ KB selector structure, aligning changes with the Marketing Mix project.
  • Partner with the Platforms & Architecture team (CRMS, Select & Config) to identify and resolve issues. Support selector-related queries.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in KB design/maintenance and modularized configurations in SAP (VC – Variant Configuration).
  • Strong coding and logic-building skills for troubleshooting and script adjustments.

  • Working knowledge of supply chain data flows (SAP, Bridge, Sysconf) and digital selector integrations (web, MySchneider, order systems).
  • Experience collaborating with Data Architects and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
  • Strong business analysis mindset; able to interpret marketing requirements.
