Linen Service Worker

Location: One Hamilton Health Place, Hamilton, NJ 08619

About the Role

The Linen Service Worker is responsible for cleaning and unloading delivery of clean linen onto shelves in the clean linen room.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a neat and clean appearance in EVS uniform daily
• Follow schedule for days of work, including assigned lunch and breaks
• Unload delivery of clean linen onto shelves in the clean linen room
• Readily restock and deliver clean linen to all parts of the hospital
• Properly contain and collect soiled linen throughout the hospital
• Properly stage dirty linen bins for pickup
• Keep linen area neat and sterile at all times
• Wear PPE as/when required
• Properly set up and take down TruD sterile Robot
• Take down/replace curtains as needed
• Communicate professionally to resolve incoming and outgoing linen requests via phone from nursing staff and department directors
• Assist with retrieval of beds and supplies needed on demand
• Perform trained Environmentalist duties when coverage is required
• Use cleaning/sterile products according to exact training method
• Comply with OSHA and NJ Hospital cleaning guidelines
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedule
• Upkeep department linen logs/requests
• Maintenance and upkeep of all equipment used by the EVS department
• Assist in setting up and breaking down all special functions, both internal and external
• Be kind and courteous to patients and staff when entering their spaces

Requirements

• Must meet 50 lbs frequent lift and/or carry requirement
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Must have experience with washing and drying linen
• Must be able to climb a 5-foot level ladder without assistance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with washing and drying linen

Schedule

Part-time Day: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m., every other weekend and holidays

Pay

$15.97 - $18.35 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
