Job Summary

City of David City, Nebraska is seeking an Apprentice Lineman/Lineworker 1. No prior experience is required and training will be provided to the right candidate. Duties include construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution lines, setting poles, stringing wire, hanging or installing transformers, lightning arresters, cutouts, cross arms, and insulators.

Responsibilities

• Participates in construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution lines
• Sets poles, strings wire and hangs or installs transformers, lightning arresters, cutouts, cross arms and insulators, and related components
• Performs lineman tasks in constructing 2,400 to 13,800-volt lines
• Stand a regularly scheduled standby watch

Requirements

• Valid Nebraska CDL driver's license

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background check

Skills

Desired skills include:

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Good physical fitness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Benefits

Wages are determined by employee pay scale.

Schedule

Regularly scheduled standby watch.
