Essential Functions

• Work under the direction of a supervisor or foreman as assigned.
• Perform work functions individually or with assistance from foremen, linemen, head groundmen, groundmen, electrical mechanics, technicians, toolmen, apprentices, etc.
• Keep assigned tools and equipment clean and orderly, securing repairs and maintenance as required.
• Possess basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough working knowledge of the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of overhead and underground transmission/distribution power lines and related equipment.
• May be upgraded to foreman or assigned to other areas such as warehousing, transportation, electric shop, local office, etc., when required and if qualified as determined by supervision.

Education

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Experience

• Journeyman lineman card/status recognized by the District and Union.
• Valid Washington State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with required endorsements.
• Valid first aid card including CPR training, meeting Washington State requirements for industrial first aid.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work independently, be self‑motivated, and exercise sound judgment.
• Knowledge and understanding of Washington State Electrical Workers Safety Rules and Regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret power delivery system maps, drawings, procedures, and work order specifications, including construction standards.
• May be required to obtain an Unmanned Aircraft Systems Pilot’s License.
• Qualified to safely and competently operate all transportation and power‑operated equipment associated with power delivery line construction and maintenance.
• Write legibly and maintain records, files, and complete forms.

Physical Requirements

• Mentally and physically fit for duty.
• Ability to work at elevated heights greater than ten feet.
• Ability to work in high‑noise/vibration areas.
• Ability to work in confined spaces or areas that restrict movement.
• Ability to work in close proximity to rotating and high‑voltage equipment.
• Ability to work in extreme heat or cold, both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to reach above shoulder level.
• Ability to differentiate colors and utilize senses (sight, hearing, touch, feel, and smell).
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work from a ladder or scaffolding and in confined areas.

Grant County PUD will conduct a background check and pre‑employment drug screen after a contingent offer of employment has been made, if selected for this position.
