Linear Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

This role reports to the Production Supervisor of Linear & Transfer Systems in our Simsbury, CT location on second shift.
About the Role
As a Machine Operator, you will produce high-quality linear energetic products in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions. This position is critical to ensuring safety, quality, and delivery for our Aerospace and Defense markets.
Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication of linear energetic product as defined in Manufacturing Instructions using both machinery and tools.
- Operate machines that load, swage, draw, and form linear energetic product.
- Operate machines that extrude and braid protective layers over linear energetic product.
- Clean, measure, cut, sample, spool, coil, and pack product.
- Maintain quality and accuracy requirements.
- Contribute toward continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Must pass an aptitude test and a company-administered competency test.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, changeable work environment; energetic and positive attitude.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of applicable work experience.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
- Demonstrated capability to use basic measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.).
- Ability to work independently.
- Background using 5S/Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred).
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Activities include walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, talking, and hearing.
