Linear Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

This role reports to the Production Supervisor of Linear & Transfer Systems in our Simsbury, CT location on second shift.

About the Role

As a Machine Operator, you will produce high-quality linear energetic products in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions. This position is critical to ensuring safety, quality, and delivery for our Aerospace and Defense markets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fabrication of linear energetic product as defined in Manufacturing Instructions using both machinery and tools.
  • Operate machines that load, swage, draw, and form linear energetic product.
  • Operate machines that extrude and braid protective layers over linear energetic product.
  • Clean, measure, cut, sample, spool, coil, and pack product.
  • Maintain quality and accuracy requirements.
  • Contribute toward continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must pass an aptitude test and a company-administered competency test.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, changeable work environment; energetic and positive attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of applicable work experience.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
  • Demonstrated capability to use basic measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Background using 5S/Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred).

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Activities include walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, talking, and hearing.
