About the Location
The Troy, Alabama plant produces peanut butter, with annual production of approximately 78 million pounds. The site supports a team of more than 130 manufacturing and support employees. Responsibilities
Labeler/Capper/Filler Operators run high-speed automated packaging equipment and manage all aspects of the packaging line. This position ensures products are packaged according to quality and safety standards.
- Operates packaging equipment according to product specifications and ensures accuracy.
- Adjusts machines as required and performs minor repairs and routine maintenance.
- Performs changeovers on equipment and maintains proper documentation.
- Continually checks the quality of the product, packaging, and case printing.
- Reports any issues or concerns and inspects/cleans equipment after each product change.
- Operates in accordance with health, safety, and fire prevention regulations.
- Reports machine problems to the shift supervisor/lead and ensures accurate machine logs.
- Fills out work order requests to ensure appropriate machine uptime.
- Maintains quality parameters for areas of responsibility.
- Follows established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Supports the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Preferred Skills
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Mechanical aptitude to repair equipment.
