Line Mechanic C
About The Position
We are presently seeking Line Mechanic C for an opening in Saranac Lake, NY. In addition to a starting wage of $49.35 per hour, we offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k) plan, vacation, tuition assistance and more.
Job Qualifications
- A qualified Journeyman Lineman with a minimum of at least three and half years experience as a lineman.
- A good knowledge of Company line practices and standards, phasing and phase rotation on polyphase circuits, and ability to make polyphase transformer installations.
- A good knowledge of the transmission and distribution systems in the area to which the employee is assigned.
- Pass physical abilities examination.
- Pass validated aptitude test.
- A valid drivers license with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver Policy.
- A CDL A or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Ability and willingness to work around hazardous/heavy equipment and energized electrical equipment.
- Ability and willingness to wear and use safety equipment as required by Company safety rules and federal, state and local regulations.
- Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations and remote job sites.
- Ability and willingness to work different schedules, on holidays and weekends and overtime as required.
- Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including all weather conditions, at elevated heights (above 30 feet) and in confined spaces.
Salary
$49.35/Hr
Note
Note: In accordance with the Labor Agreement extension, this position is eligible to be classified as a Day Worker or Scheduled Worker.
