Line Maintenance Planner (NJUS)
About the role
The Line Maintenance Planner plans overnight maintenance to reduce the impact of aircraft maintenance on the Operation. The role requires critical thinking skills to plan, strategize and schedule efficient and cost-effective maintenance events within the maintenance supplier network. The planner must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, forward-thinking, adaptable to change, and possess strong organizational skills to succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to work with external suppliers and internal departments.
Responsibilities
- Plans overnight maintenance to meet operational needs, maximize yield on inspection requirements, minimize cost, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Covers logistical requirements to successfully accomplish maintenance, including vendor capabilities, technician availability, and appropriate skill sets, parts, tooling, and aircraft routing.
- Ensures proper loading of locations in the Service Hub network to avoid overloading vendors while avoiding unused labor.
- Prioritizes work at Service Hubs to ensure the aircraft that are worked overnight provide an optimal available fleet mix for the following day based on the operation's needs.
- Completes assigned projects, campaigns, or fleet initiatives to align with company and department goals, SLAs, and metrics.
Requirements
The Line Maintenance Planner is expected to have a working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Office, and planning and/or logistics understanding. This role requires 2-4 years’ experience in an Aviation-related field or equivalent, with previous aircraft maintenance planning, military equivalent experience, a 4-year aviation/business degree, and/or A&P License preferred.
