Pay for Line Locator position in in the range of $56,028 to $70,035 and pay for the Senior Line Locator position is in the range of $63,848 to $79,810 and is dependent upon skills, experience and education of the successful candidate. This pay range is composed of a current base pay range of $48,720 to $60,900 for the Line Locator position and $55,520 to $69,400 for the Senior Line Locator, with 15% supplemental pay, which is administered in accordance with NMGC’s Supplemental Pay Policy. The successful candidate must live within 30 minutes of the Albuquerque Gas Service Center. Primary Duties And Responsibilities This list does not reflect the job duties in their entirety. Locates and marks underground facilities as requested to prevent damage by other excavating contractors and individuals. Documents and completes locate requests using the Ticket Management System Maintains accurate records of work performed and reports any usual facilities, operations, or equipment problems to supervisor Troubleshoots and investigates mapping records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information about utility lines. Coordinates with NMGC team members and outside contractors to complete difficult locate requests. May approve work plans for large projects, and represent at NMGC Wide area Conferences if neededResponds to damage incidents and conducts thorough investigations to identify causes and prevent future occurrences. Adheres to and ensures safety with proper traffic control devices during investigations, and documents findings to improve compliance. Acquires knowledge of other utility underground and field construction practices through training, experience, and collaborationMaintains and calibrates locating equipment to ensure accurate operation and work safely to avoid accidents and injuries. Inspects and may repair damaged coating and tracer wire on pipelines as neededSenior Level-Entry Level Duties Plus Additional Responsibilities Successful Candidate Must Have A high school diploma or GEDA valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordLine Locator: 1 year of experience related to Underground Utility Line Locating and/or Damage Prevention. Sr. Line Locator: 4 years of experience related to Underground Utility Line Locating and/or Damage Prevention.Preferences: Bilingual (Spanish) Working Conditions Field environment. May be required to work overtime and/or on call and handle emergency response as needed. May be required to work at various job sites, out of town, and/or remote locations for extended periods. Regularly required to walk, sit, and stand up to 2/3 of the time. Manual dexterity required and the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and listen. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
